Mocko Just Got Its Biggest Update Yet

13 MinutesArticles

We've rebuilt a large part of Mocko, and if you're preparing for the TEF, the difference starts the moment you log in. The interface is new, the learning section is reorganized, and every question has been reworked from the ground up. Here's what changed — and why it matters for your prep.

What's new:

  • A fully redesigned user interface for easier access to exams
  • A redesigned learning section organized around guided pathways
  • Full courses that teach each TEF skill, not just test it
  • An upgraded question bank across reading, listening, writing, and speaking
  • A more realistic full-length TEF mock test, start to finish

A faster, simpler interface

We rebuilt the interface across the whole platform with one goal: getting you into your exams with less friction. Pages are cleaner, navigation is simpler, and the test screens now sit much closer to the real exam — similar instructions, timing, and input fields to what you'll face on test day. Fewer clicks to start practicing, fewer distractions once you do.

A learning section built around pathways

Practice and study used to live in separate corners of the app. We've reorganized the whole learning section around guided pathways: a clear route that takes you from your current level to the one you need, one step at a time. Instead of guessing what to study next, you follow a sequence that builds the right skills in the right order — and your weak spots help decide what comes next, so no two candidates follow the exact same road.

Courses, not just drills

Those pathways are powered by something Mocko didn't have before: full courses. They go past simple practice and explain the how and why behind each TEF skill — reading strategy, listening when the audio plays only once, structuring a Section B argument, handling the two tasks in the oral exam. Work through a course start to finish, or jump straight to the lessons that close a specific gap.

Every question, upgraded

This was the big one. We went back through the question bank and reworked it across all four skills, so what you practice lines up more closely with current TEF formats and difficulty. It isn't about piling on more questions — it's about questions that behave like the real thing, so a full TEF mock test on Mocko feels less like a worksheet and more like a dress rehearsal. If reading tends to cost you points, the rebuilt reading section is a good place to feel the difference first.

What this all adds up to

Together, these changes make for a simpler path to a familiar goal: see exactly where you stand, follow a plan aimed at your weakest skills, and rehearse under conditions that match the real TEF. Everything still feeds into the skill-by-skill feedback and level certificates you already count on — now inside an experience that's faster and easier to move through. You don't need to do anything to get the update; it's already live for everyone.

If you've used Mocko before, log in and have a look around — all your progress is right where you left it. And if you're just starting out, you can try Mocko free and find out your current TEF level in a single sitting.
